Sustainability.

In the late 17th Century, Louis XIV issued a simple decree: “If you cut down a tree, plant a tree.” Knowing the Versailles Chateau, it might be hard to believe Louis XIV was the father of sustainability, but history proves that this decree was the beginning of “managed forestry” in Europe. That concept has always been a part of French Heritage’s culture. We are founding members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council; we invest in the reforestation of Indonesia via the Trees4Trees initiative and all of our lumber and veneers come from regulated plantations (SLVK certification in Indonesia and PEFC certification in Europe). All our finishes have low VOC and all cartons we receive are recycled.

Our employees and factory workers are paid fair wages and receive overtime. Our facilities have been audited and approved by strict third parties as to safety, social responsibilities and working conditions.
